Job description

Due to expansion our client, a highly successful manufacturing business based within Tyne & Wear, are looking to appoint a Continuous Improvement Engineer on a full time permanent basis.

Acting as company champion for continuous improvement, you will utilise your skills and experience to develop and implement a Lean Manufacturing program across all manufacturing functions/departments.

You will devise ideas for improvement through a combination of coaching team members on new policies/procedures, being practically involved in processes, and sharing best practice across all functions. Key focuses will include Lean Techniques & Methodologies, Quality, Effective Maintenance, Planning, & Team Capability.

You will identify and coach individuals within the organisation to become champions of continuous improvement to further embed changes, and ensure that performance can be clearly measured to demonstrate quality improvements/and or cost savings.

  • Key Skills & Attributes:
  • Previous experience with a demonstrable track record in a senior Continuous Improvement capacity is essential.
  • Must have experience of continuous improvement specifically within manufacturing in order to be considered for the role.
  • Highly effective communication skills, with the ability to liaise with team members at all levels.
  • Must have advanced knowledge of lean/world-class manufacturing principles: TPM, autonomous maintenance, Kaizen, SMED, FMEA, 5Y's, 5s, RCA, 6 Sigma.

This is full-time, permanent position working dayshift hours Monday-Friday, and the company is offering a salary of £35,000 - £40,000 per annum dependant on experience.
